The Library requires masking during the first hour of our weekend browsing shift (Saturday and Sunday, noon to 1pm). All other hours will be mask optional.
The masking period (noon to 1:00 pm on weekends) operates in conjunction with our provision of high-quality masks, tests, improved ventilation, and masking upon request

We are located in the heart of Lavender Heights in Midtown Sacramento.
Our address is 1414 21st Street, Sacramento, CA. Our storefront is next door to I Love Teriyaki.

We share a small parking lot with the other businesses in our building. Metered street parking is also readily available around our area.

The Lavender Library observes the following holidays and will be closed if group events or browsing hours fall on the following days:

We are proud to share a building with a beautiful mural by local artist Chyna Gibson in commemoration of Trans Day of Visibility.
The mural is located on the back wall of our building and accessible through the parking lot.

Yes! Our space is open to the public — we are friendly, family-friendly and welcome our LGBTQ+ community, allies, and any friendly faces.
Only members may check-out materials, but anyone can view our materials while at the library.
